I love how you address the rest of my posts. Great work.

t-o-m wrote:but the questions that need asking are: How was I warned? Can we have evidence that I was warned in a way that I could see? Where is the confirmation that I acknowledged my warning? Is applying to usergroups against the forum guidelines? Did I post in any other forums on this occasion? Why was a website-side punishment issued when TeamCC have clearly divided the website from the forums?

Answer those questions. Please.

can you at least answer the question i had earlier though?
But is there a loophole through which he could rejoin them even though he was forum banned? and if so, in which way did you warn? As in what method did you use.

Ah yes T-o-m, who was banned for bugger all as I remember.

Interestingly I can see his name on GD's forum right now..so I'm not sure how he is site banned anyway. What's this level of punishment? Can't pm, can't play games, can't post in the forum...but he can still read the forum?

CC is a bit like a cheap horror movie right now. I can imagine T-o-m wandering off on his own down a dark corridor while the audience screams "Don't go off on your own! Never go off on your own!!" Optimus Prime is naturally lurking behind some blood red drapes with a dagger in one hand, is other hand down his pants and with a crazed look in his eye... The question is who's next? The rest of us are all huddled in the drawing room eyeing each other nervously.

Who's next????

Go ahead and unban him then. If you guys can think of a reason to ban him then I am sure you can think of one to unban him.

exactly... and OP, since mods/admins can seem to bend the rules to fit any "unwritten rule" as they see fit. if this isn't resolved via e-ticket, why don't you be a man and give t-o-m back his maps and remove them from the site. then you can personally make maps to replace the ones that are removed. this is beyond ridiculous. the forum community is being destroyed by people that don't know or understand the community. you can go back and read OP's old posts before he was an admin, and it is clear that he never understood much outside of the tournaments. and even in there, when tournament outsiders came in to start tournaments to get medals, he lost his cool and took his toys and went home. true, we are less than 2% of the overall community. but as stated before almost 100 pecent of the maps, gameplay changes, suggestions come from our tiny community. if it isn't resolved, give t-o-m his work back, and let him go on his merry way. bet that would barely cause a ripple in the CC majority, as his maps are rarely played and he is such a pariah... yeah, that is sarcasm.-0

So he was banned because he joined something he couldn't see, because you gave him the ability to do it?

Well, also because he disobeyed a warning he could not read and broke some rules that do not exist.

And apparently those are the worst kind of warnings, they go straight to perma-bans.

Let me get this straight:

• He was banned for a rule that doesn't exist
• For joining private forums he wouldn't be able to post in (which is apparently a loophole)
• And then not listening to warnings he couldn't read

Makes perfect sense to me.

first of all 4myGod..you need to understand that I am only a moderator! Thus I can not unban someone, I cannot ban for any longer then 72 hours! This seems to be something that some members are having a hard time to realize. full bans for more then 72 hours are given out ONLY by admin. And well the un banning part is as I assume the same, unless only lackattack can un ban a member. and just because I like someone does not mean I don't agree or disagree with the punishment they received or are receiving. Was it not you that stated that a moderator or admin should not be "emotionally" involved in the punishment process?

As far as this map thing goes, this is completely legitimate. While I was a computer programmer, if I wrote a program ON MY OWN, the corporations I worked for had "right of first refusal" as to whether it would be theirs or not. It was written in my contract. This isn't a particularly unusual perspective.

When someone is banned from the forums, they cannot control pm's/wall/control panel which controls their profile, such as signature and email.
however, it's obvious that you can still look at clans, and that you can join them. this is not tom's fault, it's the admins fault, for not making it impossible to be able to join clans and usergroups.
he was just pointing out the loop hole. no reason to ban him for it.

edit: it seems like you can get banned for finding loop holes. i can't see this on the guidelines or rules.

I think it's fairly obvious that mods simply used the infraction as an excuse because t-o-m (along with similarly perm/forum-banned users as of late) was on their 'shit-list'.

The fact that he managed to circumvent per joining a clan is something programmers should have taken care of prior to him doing it. If it's that serious of an offense that someone can be site-banned, perhaps they should have taken the time to fix such an outright atrocity from occurring...

The "can't read PMs" point of your argument is the only legitimate point to me.

However, let's presume for a moment that t-o-m was actually contacted via email, rather than via PM as many of you have been claiming. If that is true (I haven't seen anyone state either way...perhaps I overlooked it), then he didn't get banned for anything less than "doing what he was told not to do". That seems legitimate to me.

Thanks, timmy. IF all he received for the warning was a PM (or possibly not even that), then absolutely this is ridiculous. In that instance, something needs to be done to reinstate t-o-m to his previous forum-banned status, in my opinion.

If, however, they did actually send an email (he claims they didn't, but who really knows?), then he really has no foot to stand on.

I'd really like to know if an email was sent or not...think we can drag King Achilles in here?

I support the mods and admin. We should not be discussing individual accounts. It is a question between the account holder and the site owners. Any further discussion or speculation is inappropriate at best.

Would you not agree with the fact that if a moderator or admin were to find this topic inappropriate, would they not lock this thread or come and send out warnings? I submit that they either don't care that we are bashing them or that they feel we cannot understand the full extent of their decision. I would actually appreciate some clarity in the matter just for some overall closure, not just for myself but for others.

Unfortunately it can only be reported once.

I figured if they saw it a few times maybe they'd take the fact that their own henchmen aren't abiding by the same rules they're banning people for perhaps they'd step up to the fucking plate and own up to their b/s.
