As far as this map thing goes, this is completely legitimate. While I was a computer programmer, if I wrote a program ON MY OWN, the corporations I worked for had "right of first refusal" as to whether it would be theirs or not. It was written in my contract. This isn't a particularly unusual perspective.

When someone is banned from the forums, they cannot control pm's/wall/control panel which controls their profile, such as signature and email.
however, it's obvious that you can still look at clans, and that you can join them. this is not tom's fault, it's the admins fault, for not making it impossible to be able to join clans and usergroups.
he was just pointing out the loop hole. no reason to ban him for it.
edit: it seems like you can get banned for finding loop holes. i can't see this on the guidelines or rules.
I think it's fairly obvious that mods simply used the infraction as an excuse because t-o-m (along with similarly perm/forum-banned users as of late) was on their 'shit-list'.
The fact that he managed to circumvent per joining a clan is something programmers should have taken care of prior to him doing it. If it's that serious of an offense that someone can be site-banned, perhaps they should have taken the time to fix such an outright atrocity from occurring...
The "can't read PMs" point of your argument is the only legitimate point to me.
However, let's presume for a moment that t-o-m was actually contacted via email, rather than via PM as many of you have been claiming. If that is true (I haven't seen anyone state either way...perhaps I overlooked it), then he didn't get banned for anything less than "doing what he was told not to do". That seems legitimate to me.

now my "poem" doesn't seem so far fetched does it?
Yes...it does.
