Right, this whole debate goes back to that thread you started where we discussed whether or not American intervention is responsible for contributing to terrorism. We went back and forth, it went well, but then you kept losing ground so you constantly tried to go off topic, and then you avoided the topic all together. You privately told me you couldn't read 5 minutes worth of material and ran away. If you want to, you can go find the thread yourself. It's got several pages, started from some newspaper article, it should take ya about 10 minutes to find..

Through our PMs with each other, you'd say that you would show my thread to someone else (a professor I presume, or someone much more intelligent than you) and now you've ran back with his point of view. Thank you, and if you can give me his contact information, I'd more than enjoy talking to a well-informed man on this issue and other points as well. You, Gabon, really have nothing of your own to bring to the table.

Had you really thought of this yourself, you wouldn't have argued against the premise that US intervention contributes to terrorism (to put it generally). You would've readily agreed, but countered with this reply which took you so long to come up with. In the whole of the conversation I never stated that I had to "show the thread to someone else." This is a lie.

The irony (as is plainly obvious considering the text in the above quotation) is that the whole incident got started because Stallin was offended that I had bolded a word in a thread, which he perceived to be an insult to his intelligence. Apparently Stallin thinks that it is childish to insult people on these forums, yet he does it himself on a regular basis.

The PM correspondence began when I had the audacity to bolden a word in a thread and he took offense..

If I have some free time this weekend, I think I can find some astronomy articles about this. They're not too difficult to comprehend.

When I typed comprehend, it wasn't directed at anyone, and in my opinion it was not belittling or offensive. I merely used that word because someone else was talking about how scientific journals tend to be way above layman's terms, which I completely agree with, hence:

I've been active in that thread. There's really nothing there that can't be addressed by re-reading the post you dissected.

You're mistaken. I'm a historian with a focus on Middle Eastern history. I'm not interested in making a career of writing about the Middle East but my knowledge of it is extensive.

I'm also not that interested in what you have to say, partially do to your tone and partially because so much of it is misguided or outright wrong. It's not worth my time to address every thought that you may have.

If you want to have a dialogue, keep things short and sweet. If not I'm going to pick and choose as I see fit.

I’ll admit it’s a bit petty to post this. It’s not as petty as threatening to sue someone over plagiarizing their Conquer Club posts (I don’t even know where that came from) but I can see how posting this could be seen as petty.

The other option would have been to ignore him. I tried that and Stalin started ranting about how I couldn’t support my arguments. I’ve now addressed the argument that he said I had no rebuttal to (it wasn’t that hard really) and his response was essentially that I’m too stupid to have come up with what I wrote and that I should give him the email of the person who really came up with it. He isn’t interested in a level headed exchange of ideas while that is all I’m interested in, hence the reason I try to avoid making these kinds of childish insults.

He started alluding to the conversation in the OP in the public forums and saying I said things that I didn’t. Rather than let him continue making things up indefinitely, I decided to post the conversation so that people could actually see it. I'm not the one that opened the door for this to become public.

If someone was posting half truths and untruths (and whatever the f*ck) about me in the fora based on private messages, I would post those private messages so others could see. If you guys even care (I don't really...), think about what Ballin Stalin was doing and compare it to what Gabon was doing... apart from being a little more petty, Gabon basically was defending himself. Also, go look through some other threads by such notable members of this site as owenshooter... this kind of shit happens all the time. Not sure why you guys (pimpdave in particular) have a problem with Gabon (apart from not agreeing with him on a political level).

Gabon, the conclusion to your reply was that you finally agreed with me, but then you introduced a different argument, on how much US intervention is responsible for terrorism directed to the US and whether or not the lack of intervention would actually decrease terrorism. That's a different topic. One argument ended with you agreeing that US intervention is responsible, and then you brought it to something new. Initially you ignored my attempts to bring you to a conclusion on whether or not US intervention is responsible, but then finally you agreed, to which I thanked you.

The reason why I don't wish to continue speaking with you on anything related to the Middle East is that you do not have sufficient knowledge of its history and current events, which is evident in many of your posts about it. You're aren't open to anything that goes against your opinions regardless of how much I expose your stance as flawed. You have a history of trying to avoid the topic and then making weak excuses about how long my reply is (only takes a few minutes to still read, not that big of deal). Also, the level of emotional anguish you put into this, all this kicking and screaming from you, this constant fighting finally got you to say, "I agree." I don't want to deal with your shit again; it's ridiculous how much you'll over exaggerate a situation and how you'll keep over-using the victim card.

This is the "lie" to which you're referring to, but you actually left out the part in our PMs where you said that you would go show what I typed to someone. You said this to me in between that PM conversation, which I why I mentioned the whole copyright issue. My mentioning of my work being copyrighted wasn't out of the blue, it was in direct response to you stating that you'd copy my work without my permission in order to show it to someone. You laughed at this and said, "then SUE me" (which I thought was pretty funny, but from a legal aspect, I had to make clear that you didn't have my permission to copy my work in order to show it to someone else). Unfortunately, I didn't save the PMs because I really did think this would be such a big ordeal, but I have nothing to gain by being dishonest in this situation. Everything that I have stated above is true, and I wouldn't dare lie about such a thing given how important honesty is in this issue and how important it is to me on daily basis with my experiences with others.


You intentionally left this out of this thread because in my sincere opinion you're a dishonest man with a low self-esteem. It's very telling how you completely left this part of our conversation out. This whole thread is based on a conversation which you have abridged and edited to suit your childish mannerisms. You wanted to find an excuse to ridicule me through our private conversation in public, but seeing that your excuse is not reasonable in the slightest, it exposes to many what kind of person you really are. Man, you're a liar, and you denying what you said is not surprising. Why would I mention copyrights in the first place? Because you said you'd show what I wrote to someone else. I wouldn't just mention that out of the blue.

Everyone knows that you can edit the conversations. It's fairly simply.
