He drops, his armies go neutral and the game progresses instead of stopping. I dont get it, whats the difference between somebody dead-beating and somebody dropping?

Timur the Lame wrote:How would this be abused and so what if it was. Somebody drops out of a game then you come out the winner. Intentional deadbeating IS a rules viloation. Yet it is an unenforcable and unenforced rule.
"WHy not just play the game?" Yes. I yell this at the computer game all the time. Yet, deadbeaters keep deadbeating.

Thomassaurus wrote:I'v got an idea. There cold be a vacation button. It would automatically drop you out of any game when it gets to your turn and not allow you to join any other games.
When you get back you can turn it off.
Blinkadyblink wrote:Other people point dumping doesn't hurt me (or anyone, really.)
Other people deadbeating, or suiciding, because they don't have an option to drop the game does hurt me because it makes me wait longer for turns.
I would gladly allow more point dumping if it meant less deadbeating/suiciding.
Also, I think that the concern that people will drop games that they are losing is addressed very well by the vacation mode idea.
So, there's really no good reason not to add a drop game button (although there are many "to-do" suggestions that I'd like to see first.)
Blinkadyblink wrote:If I had to guess, I would say that it was probably due to people quitting as soon as they realized that they would lose, and taking the fun out of winning a game. As I said in my last post, this would be solved by the vacation mode idea.

Obviously any gross abuse of the game is forbidden. This includes but is not limited to: throwing games or deliberately benefiting from thrown games, intentional deadbeating, holding players hostage, serial teammate killing, hijacking accounts, systematically "farming" new recruits.
Both of these rules would be broken with the use of a drop game button. The premise is simple, fight to the death or dont fight at all
Timur the Lame wrote:People seem to think that not including a drop button will force people to play. Let me reiterate for the people who just dont get it. If someone has decided to drop the game, then they will do so. If there is no option to do so then they will just deadbeat which is the exact same thing as dropping only they make you wait 72 hours.
The choices arent drop or play they are drop or deadbeat. Not having a drop button DOES NOT FORCE PEOPLE TO PLAY. "Oh well gee...theres no button, I guess I HAVE to play now."
