That semi 'option', lack, would actually be good as I brought this up quite awhile back when I was a n00b.
Where can you find such a dedicated site administrator? I commend you, lack, and I am not brown-nosing.

I like the optional order of the freestyle, but often don't like the multiple people playing at the same time. Sure it can be fun, but it can also be silly. For instance, it's possible to win a battle, and then lose the territory before you can advance onto it. Network congestion makes things even worse.

I liked having the 2 options BRING THE OPTION FOR DOUBLE TURN BACK

onlymeme wrote:i have to agree on locking when a player is taking a turn. i've seen games won simply because the player who ended his turn, waited until other player started his, and immediately the first began another turn. continent bonuses, players eliminated, moving troops back and forth protecting territories can dictate the outcome of the game. locking would assure game balance imo.
i belive freestyle with and without double turns option would make everyone happy.
as for the time remaining for the turn problem i think the solution already presented here is a good one: whenever a player is taking a turn the time remaining stops. And when the game comes down to 2 players everytime each ends his turn the clock goes back to 24h. basically seq at this time.
this would prevent a player to wait until the last moment to take his turn.
