I've just finished round 9, in just a couple of days, so each round is fast.
But of course, if it drags on too long, it would be possible to base more rounds on random maps. That way those who are more alround would get the edge, I think.
I do prefer the current setup, though.

round9: 543 -> 84,58% of round8
so maybe a few more rounds?
