If A Conservative Said This__ Worst Person In The World

Postby ViperOverLord on Sat Feb 18, 2012 12:11 am

A thread dedicated to the statements made by non-labeled conservatives that would make them the worst person in the world if they were labeled or considered conservatives.

Rosie O'Donnell: "I have a mild anxiety or fear around little people."

Rosie O'Donnell: "I can't put the two things together__ this is an adult person, but this is a little person."

Rosie O'Donnell: "Were you looking for a little person?"

Chelsea Handler: "I never dated a little person__ That'd be child abuse. I'd never do that."

Chelsea Handler: "It's like having a kid (having a midget)."

Chelsea Handler: "There's not a lot of jobs for those kinds of people (midgets)."

Chelsea Handler: "It's not the worst thing in the world__ as long as you say you're afraid of little people."

Rosie O'Donnell: "How come the little person isn't dead when the normal sized baby comes out?"

I have to admit that I wonder if you'll ever get past this fixation you have with conservatism-vs-liberalism.

That's needless spin.

What if it went:

Ann Coulter: "I have a mild anxiety or fear around little people."

Ann Coulter: "I can't put the two things together__ this is an adult person, but this is a little person."

Ann Coulter: "Were you looking for a little person?"

Sean Hannity: "I never dated a little person__ That'd be child abuse. I'd never do that."

Sean Hannity: "It's like having a kid (having a midget)."

Sean Hannity: "There's not a lot of jobs for those kinds of people (midgets)."

Sean Hannity: "It's not the worst thing in the world__ as long as you say you're afraid of little people."

Ann Coulter: "How come the little person isn't dead when the normal sized baby comes out?"

The media would be making a federal case out of it.

I'm not sure that this alleged fixation has anything to do with the OP.

Other than the whole point of it, you mean?

Fixation implying that I'm some sort of cheerleader? Or mindless parader? I think you know that independently judge issues on their merits. Nice try though.

No, that wasn't what I was saying...if it were, I wouldn't have referenced "liberalism". Rather, my point was that you seem to be unable to get beyond the conservatism-vs-liberalism dichotomy, as if everything must be broken down into those terms. As if this couldn't possibly be a problem with Rosie O'Donnell and we shouldn't focus on that but rather we should focus on "She's a liberal and nobody's bashing her!".

Now, I do tend to think that you ARE a "cheerleader" and sometimes a "mindless parader", but in this particular instance, you're more of a "whiner" in that you're whining that liberals aren't called out for things that conservatives are.

There is a conservative vs. liberal dichotomy in the media. That's the freaking point. That has nothing to do with a fixation. It's a matter of simply acknowledging that reality.

And I wasn't discussing/judging whether Rosie O'Donnell's feelings were genuine, moronic, brave, cowardly, etc. I never attempted to make a judgment one way or another. I attempted to regard how this is a non story in the media b/c it is a liberal whereas how would a conservative be slammed if he/she made the same statements? Is there a reason that you cannot regard that matter?

Yes...it's childish to force this makebelieve issue and takes away from the real, actual problems in the world.

So you're saying that conservatives and liberals get equal treatment in the media? You're saying that if a conservative made those statements it would not be more of a story in the media?

If the person was as irrelevant as Rosie Odonnel, yes.

Shes a comedian...not a funny one mind you...but a comedian nonetheless. If however, Jon Stewart said this, it would absolutely be a news story, and theyd crucify him, because he is relevant, and political, and actually entertaining.

It didnt make a story, because seriously, who really cares? Its not surprising, or interesting.

What is even your point?

Since when is the world divided into "conservatives and people who hate conservatives". You find jerks EVERYWHERE in all beliefs.

Seems like you are just trying to present yet another false claim of the "oppressed conservative group". YET.. what I see is anyone presenting anything close to a liberal viewpoint being trounced upon, and the whole political debate today being "who is more conservative".. as if there were some fundamental good to being conservative, without debate.

So... what was the point of this thread again?

Liberals are evil; conservatives are the saviors of God; and Libertarians are still refusing to jump on the bandwagon.

You can't believe that. I can't think of one off the wall thing that Stewart has said that he has been crucified for in the general media.

True__ Huff post has some stature. I'm talking about how the major networks and newspapers would constantly be trumping the story more. But that is something.

Has John Stewart said anything worth crucifying him for?

A while back Rosie had that fiasco where she did this bit about chinese people talking to each other and imitated them by going "ching chong ching chong" She was pretty much hammered in the media for it. Rosie is an idiot and no one cares.

I'm not saying that JS should've got hammered over this or that. I'm not even saying that RO or CH should've necessarily got hammered. The point is the double standard that exists. Public figures that are conservative have targets on their backs.
