We haven't had legitimate Presidential debates in this country since the League of Women Voters was kicked out of the position of running the debates. What we have now are dog-and-pony-shows with little substance.

This is an important point , what is crucial is the willingness of groups to compromise and be prepared to work together towards the common good , the actual number of groups is largely irrelevent.

The two parties are working together, they just "appear" like they are at odds.

Ask Jessie Ventura
THE DEBATE IS OVER...

I really DON'T think they're actually working together. It would be too easy for them to ACTUALLY WORK TOGETHER, if that were their goal. I think they have the same ends in mind (their own individual enrichment) and the same means in mind to get there (beat the other guys).

I sincerely like Jesse Ventura. But he can be a bit of a nutjob from time to time.

My understanding of the US political system is that cooperation between parties is key to getting things passed and moving forward. There has been a distinct lack of this type of cooperation in recent years.

i'm not saying that romney has to say anything meaningful or brilliant or impactful during the debates. i'm saying that he has to make the american people believe that he is.

Sure, I agree. My statement still stands, however, as it doesn't apply to Romney particularly.

After watching both candidates speak and after watching Romney in the primary debates, there is no question in my mind that Obama is going to wipe the floor with Romney in the presidential debates. Obama is a more charismatic speaker and seems, at least right now, to have more substance (i.e. concrete ideas) than Romney. Maybe that will change. But Romney sucked in the debates and the Republicans tried hard to find someone other than him (Michelle Bachman, Herman Cain, Rick Perry, Chris Christie, etc.).

Shame on the American people then if Obama gets reelected. Obama has done nothing for this country thus far except put us in a world of economic disarray. I think this is obvious as he has spent more than every president in history combined in only 3.5 years. Yet with all that spending, the current state of the USA hasn't changed a bit. Again this is obvious by the unemployment numbers. People can paint anything they want regarding this, however, one this is for certain, the facts can't be ignored and/or changed. If people are going to make their minds up based on a debate, again, shame on them. Obama had his shot; he's failed miserably. Not all people that hold the highest office in the land succeed; time to move on. We owe it to this country to pull us out of the gutter and get back to the basics and become an economic super power once again; the citizens deserve this.
I can't help but remember when Obama was elected; several people in the streets were interviewed and said how great it was that they now don't have to pay their mortgages or put gas in their tank; the government will now do it. With this mentality of personal entitlements is and absolute disgrace. My parents brought me up to work hard and good things will follow. This next election is crucial to the well being of this country; let's just hope this is the end of obamas tenure.

Ahhh, then you can take great comfort, great comfort indeed, that no matter who wins the election there will be a Harvard educated POTUS. What more could you want?

This is not accurate. Please research Jill Stein and Gary Johnson.

What if Obama drags the US into a war in Middle East ( Syria, Iran) before the elections,
wouldnt be the American Voters rather have him stay then to make a Presidentalchange?

Things are cooking down there, and Israel is very silent at moment, sharpening the swords?

It's better to do that after getting elected because 3rd-term votes don't matter. Everything that he's been wanting to do, he'll try his hardest to do on Round 2.

meh, there's no "sealing the deal" happening tonight, especially because it's only the VP's. romney got a HUGE upswing from the first debate (as i hypothesized might happen) and it's still anyone's game.

hmm, the first time you said this, i assumed you had actually managed to come up with something witty by yourself.

turns out it was stolen from reddit.
