"Dirving boats?" I'll assume you meant that literally. Chesapeake woman takes role on sub, Navy history.2dimes wrote:There isn't enough women driving boats. When are we going to address that?

Well, historically speaking, god seems to prefer speaking through men, so it does seem reasonable.Iliad wrote:Explain how women are less capable of being priests or ministers. In general, more empathy, which I hear is a Christian value.
For example: Prison guards. Another, waitresses at hooters
You were still defending them, and claiming that there are roles "meant" for men and others "meant" for women. Which is precisely the attitude and antiquated gender roles people are trying to overturn. Welcome to the 21st century.Phatscotty wrote:I'm not saying that. Everything else?tzor wrote:"Dirving boats?" I'll assume you meant that literally. Chesapeake woman takes role on sub, Navy history.2dimes wrote:There isn't enough women driving boats. When are we going to address that?
Because everyone knows a "boat" is a submarine and everything else is a "ship."

Well crap can be boats, but they aren't generally not worth mentioning. If you want a more formal definition of not worth being called a ship ... here is the Wikipedia definition.DoomYoshi wrote:Everything else?tzor wrote:"Dirving boats?" So are we talking tankers, ocean liners, and aircraft carriers, or are we talking oversized guitars on a lake? Because I don't think the later is a good description for the office of bishop. Hell, even a pastor deserves a proper "ship."A boat is a watercraft of any size designed to float or plane, to provide passage across water. Usually this water will be inland (lakes) or in protected coastal areas. However, boats such as the whaleboat were designed to be operated from a ship in an offshore environment. In naval terms, a boat is a vessel small enough to be carried aboard another vessel (a ship). Another less restrictive definition is a vessel that can be lifted out of the water. Strictly speaking and uniquely a submarine is a boat as defined by the Royal Navy. Some boats too large for the naval definition include the Great Lakes freighter, riverboat, narrow boat and ferryboat. The term armed boat, used primarily by English speaking naval forces, referred to any boat carrying either a cannon or armed occupants, such as marines.

I have no idea for their reasons (already stated). I just find is fascinating that you guys think you are going to tell the church what is right and what is wrong.Iliad wrote:You were still defending them, and claiming that there are roles "meant" for men and others "meant" for women.
