This map is now out of vacation and because there was not much initial support for it, I am asking again...
Should this map continue development.
It is not a war map, but one where some good strategy might have to be deployed to "win the day".

the legend says,
spectators -> venues
goods -> venues
venues -> hopsitals
so can spectators -> goods or hospitals? can goods -> hospitals? or is it that only what u stated above will be allowed to attack?
pretty much if u accidently fort all ur armies to hopsital, and ur down to that one hospital terr, u cant attack anything else and try to get a card for set?
that just seems stupid and if what i stated above is true, this has to be one of the most confusing and unappealing game variation i have ever seen or read.
no offense cairns, ur maps are all great (except maybe bamboo jack) but this map with this variations ruins the whole map.
the map looks great, but the variation is whats killing the map.

what are veneus?
what are suburbs?
what is a pedestrian crossing?
are the spectators those things like cycling?
yes these are goods/services that can be delivered (attack) to the venues.why are the drinks fishes and breads in there? are those the serveces?
mayby you could make those things more clear with some kind of a lable
the tekst sydney 2000 and cairnswk is not easy to read, maybe anather font?
look to the north east corner of the map, what are those white things doing there?
the roads i think are not good (graphicaly), change the dots into larger ones (not bigger i mean only make 1 side large, no idea how to explain it 'cause i don't know the name for it in english) so that it realy looks like it is in reallife
where you can go over the roads is ugly you must change that really (at least remove the dots there)
if you don't understood something i said feel free to say it and i will explain it with a picture

fair comment jako and i appreciate yhour thoughts.
here's the go...
normal attack movement applies between the bordering terts and the pedestrian crossings are the bridges across the roads.
you use the roads to allow spectators to attack the venues
you use the roads to allow goods to attack the venues
you use the roads to allow the venues to attack the hospitals.
If this is poor gameplay then i really don't want to see the map go down, but do you have any suggestions that would keep the style alive?
I'd like to hear them as your input.

the problem is that its not too clear as what can attack what? i had to look at it 2-3 more times before i got this.
so normal terrs that dont have spectators/venues/hospitals can still attack normally,
its only when one of the above 3 is added to a terr that ur new attacking system takes effect right?
for example, revesby is assuming a goods, therefore it can attack padstow, riverwood, bankstown and barring ur new attack system can also attack via the roads city, woollahra, bondi, and ryde?
can u suggest alternatives??and i quite agree with wisse, that u need a lot of clarification of venues, goods, and spectators. im from an english speaking country and im confused a little by ur map. just think how hard it is for players from non-speaking countries to understand the lesser used vocabulary of this map.

Wisse, are they not already labelled in the legend, other than that what do you mean?
cairnswk wrote:look to the north east corner of the map, what are those white things doing there?
if you don't mean the ferry crossings as those are labelled in the legend, then you must be referring the beaches around Manly on the coastline.

you mean dashes i think, small long lines????
cairnswk wrote:where you can go over the roads is ugly you must change that really (at least remove the dots there)
you mean at the pedestrian crossings where you can cross the road?????

Wisse...thanks for attempting some difficult english for this map. I did not realise it would be so different for those whose english is not so good.

also the crossings is something i had to know but well i think i didn't think about what crossing could be

This seems like an intersting map, but honestly...I think it's your worst idea yet. I know you like to provoke thought and stimulate change in maps around the foundry, but you've taken it way too far this time. I think your time would better be spent on A. Fixing up your current maps such as Rail Europe and starting new ones. Seeing as how your Foundry output is probably faster than anybody else, I'm sure you've got ideas stirring about in your head.
Please take into account that I have never been to Sydney.

But Sydney is a single city and you can explore it, Brazil is an entire country. Sydney would stimulate the Aussies like a map of NY would stimulate the Americans, but I've never been to Sydney so I don't feel that for this map.

I hope you like the map even though we (Marvaddin and I) are not quite finished yet :p (We should have a version ready soon to post in the forum)
I guess you mean North America?
I voted no on this one because...well...It's just very confusing. Others might say your other maps are confusing and have quite a bit going on, but I'm fine with them. This one is bloody confusing. I do get how everything works, but it just seems like there is way too much going on.
