I like your latest update. I think you may have something to work with. I'll be interested to see how this map develops...

Looks wise - like it - crisp and clean... the legend is a *bit* bright as the names don't quite match the continents... but that's easily fixable.

Caucasia should be worth more than 2 - it's got 4 bordered territories... it's wide open - you'll never hold it!!

The lower purple territory has two names?
Legend probably needs to be redone. Perhaps put nonplayable land behind it?

Caucasia will have the caucasus mountain range to the southern portion when I find a good mountain style.

I merged territories from the first working when I started this.

Also, this is the best way for the legend I've deduced after trying many things.

no the 7 is just to much, you can hold 3 territories and it's in the dorner of the map so noone thinks of breaking it, just to easy to hold after 1 turn

i disagree as the holding it with 3 territories puts you right next to the easiest continent to hold and that guys going to have lots of extra guys to break you. You can hold asia on Classic with just 3 territories.

Update
What I did:
Named all of the territories.
Put a temporary graphic for where the mt. range will be.
Settle on a territory style that I like and applied it to all territories except for one.

What I didn't do:
Change bonus of Kazakhstan(I'm not sure it needs to be changed)
Settle on a final map graphic.

What else should be placed on the docket.

Very easily fixed. You'll see it in the next update. You might even want it a bit brighter.

-I don't really like the legend to be that big, you lose a lot of game space...
-There are some weird things in some of your borders, look at the border above armenia, it's split there
-Maybe you can first concentrate on the gameplay and than go to the graphics...The map looks to plain, there is like no attraction comming of it. (but you said it's not the final look so I'm not going further into the graphics)

I'm not a strategist so I don't really know how I could help...But a mountain that splits the hole map in 2...I don't thinks that's a good idea...

1. I don't feel like it really hinders gamespace too much. I shrunk to a small map and names and armies fit fine. It's not all that big either.

2. I don't really understand what you're talking about with this, but drawing borders isn't really my forte so I understand that there are probably some problems there. I'm still waiting for some general philanthropist to offer to draw thelm.

3. I like the what you would call plain look in maps. Maps that are too busy hurt my eyes. While I respect yours, widowmakers, or other map makers like that's skills. I don't enjoy playing maps like midkemia, or great lakes because I feel there's too much going on in them. I'd rather play "plain" maps like portugal, france, or CCU etc... I know I"m not in the minority there based on several threads complaining about the foundry. While this isn't the final look I do prefer to keep it not too busy looking.

4. I think that gives it a good element. I feel it's not too hindering while also giving a sort of circular effect to sort of force certain continents to clash etc... The mountain range is also a big part of the region and I don't think real armies would want to go over that mountains. I'm not entirely inflexible on my circular type idea if other people have suggestions on that I will listen.

Made some changes to the legend balancing feedback.

Still to-do:
-Change colors of Iraq and possibly turkey to contrast with the water of the sea better.
-Finalize the mountains.

Needs input:
-Legend reduced stroke opacity(more grey)
-Picture.

I wasn't serious.

I feel it's important for a map to progress through each forum, because there's only a select amount of people who check each one. There is also very few people who check all of them.

I'm not a huge fan of it but I think it would look better on the water west of Georgia if it didn't happen on the boundary with the legend.
