That's ridiculous... By that logic any map on this site that isn't firmly grounded in reality should be banned. Just because a map theme is controversial doesn't mean it shouldn't be made. It isn't even a political statement. For argument's sake, lets say it's a map based on a book. What makes it any less valid than the Middle Earth map or the Discworld map? The fact that people dispute whether or not those boundaries are valid?

Thats a well thought out and persuasive argument, I think everyone should have a good long hard think about what you just said.

Its a map to play risk on. Nothing more, Nothing less

Good Luck :D

Wait, this is a joke, right? Because I'm not entirely sure, but I would guess that the other 99.77% of the world population that isn't Jewish might disagree with you.

Like I said on page one, if this map is going to be made without protest (note my careful choice of words) it should be based on a historical period rather than a philosophical belief.

Anyway, as there is no map and no mapmaker this is not a map thread and it should be deleted. This discussion belongs in Map Ideas.

1. There is a future map maker:
bloknayrb wrote:I'd actually love to make this map, but lately I barely even have the time to work on my own. Still, I think this is a really good idea, with a lot of potential for excellent gameplay, and I'd very much like to see it get made. .

2. This map is in Map Ideas (last time that I checked…)

Twill wrote:I'd say strip out ANY reference to religion (is that possible?) and avoid using the word israel anywhere and you'd face much less opposition from a lot of people.

use sentences like "the Bible says..." is just going to set people against you because this becomes a religiously motivated map not a historical one (religion does not equal historical) and it becomes part of the discourse on Israel which is seeped in controversy.

My answer:
I wish I could strip any relationship to religion. I believe that religion has nothing to do with this map Idea.
but if you refer to the bible as religious, then we have a problem since it's our only resource for creating this map. I would be happy to learn of a better resource. You may, however, agree with me that the Bible is nothing religious. It's History. But it's not the place to argue about that.

It is not a joke. I know from my short life experience that sometimes the majority might be mistaken, however I'm not even sure you know 99.77% of the world population, and if you did, you would be glad to know that even the majority of jews don't know that this land belongs to them… but let's please stick with the facts.
If you don't think much of the bible, Read my answer above to Twill.
If we agree to stay with the bible for this map, than please try and find me a place in the bible where it the holy land of Israel does not belong to the people of Israel.
I mean, what do you people suggest? To call this map "The Holy Land" ?
But what holy land? Holy to whom? What land? Every land is holy to It's settlers.
I thought we agreed to try and make a map of the 12 Tribes? So the Title must say something about it. What's a better name for the 12 tribes other than the biblic one?
Israel !

What's a better conclusion than:

Several people have now offered to help you with a map based on Israel, aswell as asked you to go easy about controversial issues that comes with this.
But like the last time a map based on Israel was brought to forum it quick shows its only about doing promotion and justifying the ongoing war Israel is responsible for.
Dont force it anymore or try make it to have anything to do with religion. The pure evil attitude and actions the country Israel done, do all the time and show no plans to end can never be blamed on jews as a group.

Did you read anything that I wrote?

Postby elchananj on Thu Nov 15, 2007 4:49 pm

I thought I was being clear...
If I was'nt clear please forgive me because english isn't my best language.

my Map Idea is about a map of a past kingdom of the Israelies,
as detailed in the Bible.

it must not have the purpose of having anything to do with today, so please read my words and don't tell me I mean things I never thought of and never wrote of.

or just read this:

Yeah no offense should be had, I think this is a great idea I would like to see pushed forward. All maps are based on something whether it be a time, a period, a war, or a book, why should this be any different. A maps a map, more CC conquering fun for all! Rock & Roll.
